Now, I don't have anything against Springsteen, it's just that ever since the "wardrobe malfunction" of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson the NFL has went to a prevent defense in their entertainment selections. Here are some of the latest performers:
The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Admittedly, Hall of Fame rockers, but all from a generation ago. It's as if the Super Bowl halftime show is a Life Time Achievement award celebration now. Am I the only one who would like to hear someone who is "now"?
Springsteen was all the rage years ago (I know all you late 70s, 80s Springsteenites are plotting my assassination now), but isn't all the rage now.
So, here are some suggestions for Super Bowl Entertainment (not endorsements, but realistic options):
1. U2 / Bono
2. Coldplay
3. Rhianna and Chris Brown
4. Maroon 5
5. Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Toby Kieth, Carrie Underwood
6. Bill Gaither and Homecoming Friends (OK, Kidding)
Ok, there are my suggestions...What are yours?
