Comparing Radical Islam with Christian Fundamentalism

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Preface: Rosie doesn’t really know the Christian right, so this would be a more accurate comparison between Radical Islam and Christian Fundamentalism. This is stereotypical and intended to represent the fringe. In addition, the term Fundamentalism has in recent years began to define a philosophical preference, rather than a theological position – though ‘fundamentalists’ would believe their preference is somehow theological.

Radical Islam: Their Sacred writing: The Holy Qur'an. Believe in anything else and you will be punished by death.

Christian Fundamentalism: Their Sacred writing: The King James Version of the Bible (1611). Believe in anything else and you will be a heretic.

Radical Islam: Chief Enemies: George Bush, Tony Blair and Israel’s Prime Minister, no matter who it is at any point in time, for sponsoring States with religious freedoms and equal rights for women and other ethnic groups.

Christian Fundamentalism: Chief Enemies: Rick Warren/Bill Hybels, for introducing America to Christian “Rock” music and casual dress at church.

Radical Islam: Battle Cry: Death to Israel, Death to Israel. Death to America, Death in America.

Christian Fundamentalism: Battle Cry: Down with women who wear pants and Pastors who let them!

Radical Islam: Conversion Strategy: Convert now or die.

Christian Fundamentalism: Conversion Strategy: Pray this prayer, fill out this card.

Radical Islam: Chief Madman: Osama Bin Laden – Jihad. Purpose to kill all infidels (Jews, Christians, Liberal Muslims, Moderate Muslims, Americans, British, Westerners)

Christian Fundamentalism: Chief Madman: Fred Phelps – Westboro Baptist Church – Extreme Calvinists who are known for their rhetoric against gays and protesting at soldiers funerals.

Conclusion: Though Christian Fundamentalists are off in left field or right field rather, they do not desire to slay non-Christian Fundamentalists. That my friends is why Radical Islam is ‘slightly’ more dangerous.
